Regina Zarhina began her schooling at the Leningrad State School for Performing Arts before becoming herself a distinguished educator, lecturer, and writer of classical ballet. She has taught as both principal instructor and guest with institutions such as the English National Ballet School, Valentino Dance Center, Los Angeles Ballet Academy, Southland Ballet Academy, Ayako School of Ballet, Morikawa Ballet Academy, University of Wolverhampton, Elmhurst School for Dance (in association with the Birmingham Royal Ballet), University of Colorado, and the University of Utah.
After a long career as a teacher and even Artistic Director of Academy of Colorado Ballet, Regina developed and founded her own organization - Classical Ballet School of Denver Colorado. From Classical Ballet School alone, her students were able to graduate into prestigious organizations such as San Francisco Ballet, Universal Ballet (now known as the Kirov Ballet), and School of American Ballet.
Regina’s expertise in teaching all levels of classical ballet from youth to company level, pointe, variations, repertoire, character dance, and dance history has gained her acclaim worldwide. Due to her success as a mentor, Regina has secured notable affiliations with foundations such Youth America Grand Prix (Administrator), Sibiu International Ballet & Contemporary Dance Competition, Ballet Russes Festival, Dance Magazine, Ballet Review, Dance International, Balet (of Russia), and Dance Spirit Magazine. Her mastery of ballet training, education, and performance has allowed her to establish curriculum for teaching programs for the career oriented dancer at all stages of development.
SLC Ballet is proud to host semiweekly Masters Classes for professional & pre-professional ballet dancers & students.
Each 90 minute class is taught by internationally acclaimed instructors Regina Zarhina & Misha Tchoupakov.
Classes are held on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00 P.M. & on Saturdays from 4:00-5:30 P.M.
The cost is $10 per class.

Misha Tchoupakov’s career has spanned twenty years of diverse experience as a professional dancer with the world’s finest dance companies of Russia, Europe, and the United States after graduating from Moscow State Academy of Choreography and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. Misha has been associated with major companies such as the Bolshoi Ballet, Vienna State Opera Ballet, and Sarasota Ballet in both solo and principal roles. In addition to those companies, he has also been both principal and guest artist with many other notable dance companies internationally.
His teaching qualifications stretch over twenty five years of instruction in various dance disciplines with emphasis in ballet technique, pas de deux, and repertoire. Misha has taught technique classes, company classes, and rehearsals as well as staged, choreographed for leading organizations as the English National Ballet School, Bolshoi Ballet Academy, Royal Ballet School of London, Southland Ballet Academy, Los Angeles Ballet Academy, University of Utah, Aoyama Ballet Studio, and Kirchheimbolanden Tanzeschule to name a few.
Besides dancing and teaching, Misha has also been a valued judge, master teacher, choreographer, and juror for respected competitions and festivals like Youth America Grand Prix, Sibiu International Ballet and Contemporary & Dance Competition, and Regional Dance America.
His former students are now members of companies such as the Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Houston Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, Het National Ballet, and Zurich Ballet.
